Ahecha National Competition

I had so much fun teaching Ahecha last year that I wanted to do again. This time I had five students. It was just like last time, teaching the basics of camera usage, but most importantly trying to get them to see the world a little bit differently.

Since 2007 Ahecha has held an annual photography competition for all of its participants. This year we had a total of 20 PCVs complete the program, with over 150 students participating throughout the country. There were over 540 photos submitted into the competition, and 25 were voted best in show for display at the US Embassy. Three of my students won!

My time as an Ahecha coordinator is now over, and the baton has been passed. Suerte Nick and Molly! If you want to see all photos from the competition they can found here.
