Party Like A Paraguayan
The electronic scene is alive and kicking in Paraguay, at least down in Pilar.
Back in January I visited Brooke and we went down to the annual Hawaiana to celebrate New Years. Most of the beats were what you would hear at any American music festival.
But this is not the Paraguay I know. Out in Capilla Cué our parties are little more traditional.
The Spanish guitar and harp are the fundamental instruments of Paraguayan folk music.
And the local dance is Polka.
Almost every Paraguayan party revolves around barbecue.
And mandio (cassava)
And sopa (corn bread)
