Eco Reserva Mbatovi

Along Capilla Cué’s Southern edge is a private Eco-Reserve called Mbatovi. Since I live so close I frequently get asked about how to get there. If you’re thinking of heading up this way this post will help you plan your trip.

For 130mil (120mil if you come with a group > 5) you get a 1hr long guided adventure that includes canopy walks, cliff rappelling, and zip lining. You also get, arguably, one of the most beautiful vistas in Paraguay overlooking several famous Cerros of the Cordillera de Los Altos.

For the volunteer on the budget, the most economical method of travel is the Capilla Cué–Paraguarí micro (4mil) which waits one block northwest of the westernmost corner of Paraguarí’s main plaza. The Capilla Cué-Paraguarí micro can be caught to and from the reserve at 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm

You have to make a reservation for either a 9am or 2pm excursion. The 9am option allows you to take a micro back at either 11am or 1pm (4mil), but if you need to go with the afternoon option a taxi is not too costly (35mil) (Just make sure to a grab a card from one of the Taxi drivers in the main plaza). And if you’re not concerned about time you can also trek the 10k back to Paraguarí in 2 hours, where you’ll pass by some other climbable peaks with vistas that rival that of Mbatovi.
