Capilla Cué Micro

I was waiting for my micro in Paraguarí when I realized just how much this old bus has grown on me.

Capilla Cue micro full

Its a vintage 1960s Mercedes owned by a businessman in Capilla Cué and is the only bus serving the community from Paraguarí.

It’s engine has a very deep rumble that echos through the hills, so you always know when its coming. I find the sound comforting because it means I’ll soon be relaxing and enjoying the view for the next half hour.

But being a 50 year old vehicle it’s not without problems.

Micro oil leak
Doesn’t look good

When this happens I have to walk home. The way back is about 13 kilometers (8 miles) which would not be that bad except for the fact that its a 260 meters (850 foot) elevation gain. This route is so steep that the National Longboard Championship holds its races here.

It takes me about four hours to get back.

Walking to Capilla Cue
No sidewalk either
Walk from Paraguari
Walk from Paraguari waterfall
But the views are nice
