A Walk

…into the Cordilleras.

Capilla Cue Chololo Cataratas 3

If you’re feeling a little stress and need a peaceful escape, Capilla Cué has got you covered. From Paraguarí take the Capilla Cué-Paraguarí micro for 4mil (8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm) to Balneario Chololó. Walk down the Balneario road until the road turns right. Then cut left through the private pasture to the Chololó arroyo. If someone is curious about your destination just ask how to get to Cascada de Chololó and they’ll point you right to it.

Capilla Cue Chololo Cataratas

Here you’ll find a private waterfall and perfect spot to unwind. Walk upstream 100 meters and you’ll find one of the most tranquilo meditation rocks in all of Paraguay. You’ll know it when you see it.

This of course is assuming its not summer break and the Balnearios are not overflowing with people. If that’s the case you should go up to escape the crowds.

So lets reset. From Paraguarí walk northeast to the abandoned Paraguarí Train Station. Jump the tracks and follow the road heading towards the tall mountain in front of you. At this road’s dead-end intersection, turn left, then immediately right, and follow this road straight until you can get around the northern edge of the barrio. You’re now on the secret path to the summit of Cerro Jhú.
